Capt Sax Foundation Scholarship Update – Fall 2025

This past weekend, our board gathered once again to deliberate on the next round of Capt Sax Foundation scholarships. It is one of the most rewarding responsibilities we carry, but also one of the hardest. Every application we receive reflects dedication, passion, and a love for aviation that echoes John’s spirit.

We are proud to share that in this round, 11 scholarships were awarded, totaling $15,000. Calls are being made this week by members of our board to notify recipients directly.

The deliberation process is always exceptionally tough. Each applicant brings a unique story, strong qualifications, and goals that deserve support. This round, we were especially glad to award a scholarship to a second-time applicant, as we give additional weight to those who reapply in future cycles. Persistence matters, and we encourage all applicants who were not selected this time to apply again.

None of this would be possible without the generosity of our donors and the tireless efforts of our all-volunteer board and directors. Every person involved gives their time and energy to ensure that this mission continues to thrive.

Looking ahead, our goal is not only to sustain the Capt Sax Foundation long into the future, but also to expand our program’s reach; awarding more scholarships, supporting more students, and carrying John’s love for aviation forward for years to come.
