Sax Foundation ("Foundation") to users of this website ("You") may be posted on our website and shall be deemed delivered within thirty (30) days after posting. Purpose of This Website
The Capt Sax Foundation website is intended to:

  • Share the story of Capt John J. Sax, USMC and uphold his legacy. 
  • Explain our foundation’s mission - Offer Aviation Scholarships in honor of Capt John Sax. 
  • Explain who we are – Capt John Sax’s Family (John Sax’s wife and children) along with our friends. 
  • Provide information regarding scholarship opportunities and accept applications. 
  • Accept and process donations to further our mission. 
  • Raise scholarship funds through the sale of memorial shop items. 
  • Share updates, photographs, and other information relevant to our work.

Photograph Removal
If any recipient or individual would like their photograph removed, they may request so by emailing info@captsaxfoundation.org, and we will honor the request promptly.

Scholarship Application Consent and Publicity Release
By submitting a scholarship application to the Foundation, applicants acknowledge and agree that, if selected as a scholarship recipient, the Foundation may use their name, image, likeness, and biographical information for promotional purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, publication on the Foundation’s website, social media channels, printed materials, donor communications, and annual reports, in order to highlight the impact of our scholarship program and demonstrate to donors how their support is making a difference.

Additionally, quotes and/or paraphrased statements provided by applicants—whether submitted through the application form, via email, text message, social media direct messages, or other means of communication—may be used in promotional or testimonial materials, with or without attribution.

The Foundation will never sell or license applicant data to third parties, and all such usage will be limited to Foundation-related communications and promotional efforts.

If at any time a recipient wishes to have their image, name, biographical information, or quotes removed from any of our materials, they may contact us at info@captsaxfoundation.org, and we will make reasonable efforts to act in good faith and honor the request as quickly as possible.

Submission of an application constitutes a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license granted to the Capt Sax Foundation for the above-described uses, in accordance with applicable privacy and publicity rights under state and federal law.

Privacy Policy
We respect your privacy. Any personal information collected through this site, including donations and scholarship applications, will be handled with care and in compliance with applicable privacy laws. We do not sell or distribute personal information to third parties without consent.

Refund Policy
Due to the fundraising nature of our memorial shop, all sales are final, and no refunds will be issued. If an item is lost in transit, damaged, or missing, please contact us at info@captsaxfoundation.org, and we will arrange for a replacement if applicable.

Scholarship Program Eligibility
Eligibility requirements for the Capt. Sax Foundation Scholarship Program are detailed on our FAQ page. These requirements may be updated at any time with approval from the foundation’s board and in accordance with our bylaws. Any inquiries about the selection process may be directed to info@captsaxfoundation.org.

Limitation of Liability and Disclaimer
The Capt. Sax Foundation is not liable for any errors, omissions, inaccuracies, or any other issues resulting from the use of this website. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the availability, accuracy, or reliability of website content.

By using this website, you agree that the Capt. Sax Foundation and its affiliates shall not be held responsible for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site.

Governing Law
All be governed by the laws of the State of California. By accessing this site, you agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the courts in California or, if applicable, the United States District Court for the appropriate district.
