Honoring Capt. John J. Sax, USMC through Aviation Scholarships
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported the Capt. Sax Foundation and welcome our new followers.
Our 501(c)(3) nonprofit honors Capt. John J. Sax, who tragically lost his life during an MV-22B Osprey training mission. Each day, we remember and honor the crew of 𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝟏-𝟏—𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐭. 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐬 𝐋𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐨, 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐭. 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐱, 𝐂𝐩𝐥. 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐬𝐨𝐧, 𝐂𝐩𝐥. 𝐒𝐞𝐭𝐡 𝐑𝐚𝐬𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐩𝐥. 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝.
Our mission is to share John’s story and celebrate his passion for aviation by granting scholarships in his name. In 2023, we awarded 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 $𝟐𝟓𝐤 in scholarships and are slated to grant another $𝟐𝟓𝐤 by the end of 2024. We hope to eventually exceed these amounts, helping more individuals pursue their aviation dreams.
Here’s how you can help:
⚡️𝐄𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬: Direct potential applicants to our online application to apply before our next cutoff – December 15th.
⚡️𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝: Say the names and share the stories of the crew members of Swift 1-1, remembering that their legacies continue to unfold through the ways we honor them.
⚡️𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞: Contribute financially or support our “merch for a cause” to help fund Capt. Sax scholarships. Every dollar makes a difference, regardless of amount. Details surrounding our commitments to our supporters are provided on our website’s Transparency page.
Thank you again to everyone who has supported us from the beginning and to those who have recently joined our cause. We are profoundly grateful and recognize that this foundation would not be possible without your support.
