Swift 1-1 Memorial Unveiling

Swift 1-1 Memorial Unveiling at Lincoln Airport
This June 9th, just one day after the three-year anniversary of the Swift 1-1 mishap, a permanent monument will be unveiled at Lincoln Airport in honor of the five Marines we lost: Capt. Nicholas Losapio, Capt. John Sax, Cpl. Seth Rasmuson, Cpl. Nathan Carlson, and LCpl. Evan Strickland.
For us, this is more than a memorial – it’s a return to where it all began for John. Before he became a Marine Corps pilot, he spent his time at Lincoln Airport as a Certified Flight Instructor. He taught others to fly here. He encouraged, challenged, and believed in the students who stood on that same flight line. This airport was part of his story, and now it’s part of his legacy.
We’re deeply grateful to the people who helped bring this tribute to life. Thank you to Lincoln PD and Chief Matt Alves, the Lincoln City Council, the Lincoln Public Works Foundation, and Jeff DeMure. Your support means more than we can say.
The ceremony will begin at 10:00 AM at Lincoln Airport, near the Commander Bill Gate. A reception will follow just south of the memorial site at the Evil Monkey Hangar.
We hope you’ll join us as we honor their lives, their service, and the weight of what they gave.
