Capt Sax Scholarship Recipient Sigma Kar
Weโre honored to highlight Capt Sax Foundation scholarship recipient, Sigma Kar.
Some aviation journeys begin with a dream. Others begin with a calling that refuses to let go.
Sigma is currently pursuing her Instrument Rating while earning her Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering. The Capt Sax Foundation scholarship is helping support her flight training as she continues building toward a future in aviation and aerospace.
Long term, Sigma hopes to pursue a path toward becoming a pilot in the United States Air Force, a goal she has carried for years. But her ambitions reach even farther. With a background in mechanical engineering, hands-on industry experience, and a love for building and fabricating, Sigma also hopes to pursue NASAโs astronaut program one day.
What stands out most about Sigma is her determination. She understands that meaningful goals rarely come without challenges, setbacks, or moments of doubt. Yet she continues moving forward with the same mindset that has guided her throughout her journey.
As Sigma shared in her application, “When God gives you a dream, youโll face challenges and setbacks – but you also find strength, and people who lift you up.”
That perspective reflects something John Sax believed deeply: that growth comes through perseverance, mentorship, and the courage to keep going when the path becomes difficult.
Sigmaโs journey reflects the real impact aviation scholarships and grants can create. Flight training funds and aviation education support help individuals continue pursuing goals that demand extraordinary commitment, discipline, and faith in themselves.
Sigma, we are honored to support your journey and inspired by your drive to serve, lead, and continue reaching higher.
Given in honor of John Sax.
