Capt Sax Scholarship Recipient: Neal Doran

We’re proud to highlight another outstanding Capt Sax Foundation scholarship recipient, Neal Doran.

Neal’s path to the cockpit is a testament to the “GIVE A SHIT” standard of persistence and grit. His spark for aviation came from his paternal grandfather, a C-47 pilot in the Army Air Corps during World War II, whose love for flight changed the course of Neal’s life. A Marine MV-22 flightline mechanic with more than 1,000 hours in the V-22 as an aerial observer, Neal has spent years serving within the aviation community from the ground and the air. He spent over ten years carefully saving to fund his own flight training – a journey that would ultimately span four years, two flight schools, and a move across the country. His dedication paid off, and he now spends his time exploring the skies of Southern California alongside his wife.

With his initial training complete, Neal is now looking toward the horizon to earn his IFR rating. At the Capt Sax Foundation, we are honored to support Neal as he continues his journey. His dedication to service, pursuit of excellence, and passion for aviation reflect the very values this mission was built upon.
